QUESTIONS

frequently asked

Why did you choose Pábitel Photography as your business name?

I knew you were wondering about this! Pábitel Photography's name was formally PabitelWanderer Photography. So many people told me that the name choice was a bad idea, because a) no one could remember it, and b) no one knew how to pronounce it. I loved the name though, and it took me a long time to abandon it. The name PabitelWanderer means a lot to me, but eventually I decided to shorten the name to hopefully make it less of a tongue twister and easier to remember!

I chose the name Pábitel Photography, because of the meaning of the word pábitel. It's a word I love and something I strive to be every day.

What should I wear to my portrait session?

This is a very, very popular question! That is why I have put together a couple of resources to help you in selecting outfits for your portrait session. Please see my client resources for direct access to my Pinterest, where you will find great inspiration for boudoir, maternity, and children photography session outfits. My resources page also contains a downloadable Style Guide and Order Form for prints.

Do you offer wedding photography services?

At this time, Pábitel Photography only takes on one wedding per month. Contact Lisa to learn more. Engagement photos may be scheduled at any point during the year, whether your wedding is being photographed by Pábitel Photography or not.

When is the best time to schedule maternity photos?

The best time to schedule your maternity photos is always when you are still comfortable moving around; however, if you are more concerned about having your bump photographed at its fullest, it is best to schedule your session to take place during your seventh or eighth month of pregnancy.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes! Simply contact me to learn how gift certificates may be used or to purchase yours.

Can I see (or have) the original, straight out of camera images?

For the protection of my photographs and my brand, I am unable to release unedited, or original, images taken during client sessions.

Is this photo available in color (or black and white)?

When creating galleries, I am very particular in making sure that only the best photos from a session are selected and presented to my clients. In most cases, if a photo in a gallery is provided in only black and white it is because the photo looks best this way. When a photo looks best in black and white, often times I do not keep copies of the same photo in color. Because of this, I cannot guarantee that any one photo in a gallery will be available in both color and black and white. Please do not hesitate to ask this question though when reviewing your gallery as your photos may be an exception to this!

Do you have more photos than the ones provided in my gallery?

The first step to creating a session gallery is culling. This means I go through every photo taken during the session and select only the very best photos to deliver to my clients in their carefully curated and edited album. However, I do provide an option to purchase photos outside of your package's guaranteed amount of delivered images. For example, if you book my Classic package, you will receive 15-25 edited photos, but you could choose to purchase additional images or your entire gallery. For more information, please see the investment guide or contact me.

How will my photos be delivered?

When you complete a portrait session with Pábitel Photography, your photos will be delivered through a private, password-protected, online gallery. These photos will be downloadable. Oftentimes, I will email clients the link to their online gallery and send their password separately, usually through text message.

Any prints ordered through Pábitel Photography can be shipped directly to your home or can be picked up at Pábitel Photography's studio.

Do you offer digital files of your photos?

So, it depends on the situation:

- If you are inquiring because you are interested in one of my nature, landscape, or fine art photos, the answer is no. I only offer these photos as physical products such as prints, canvases, and calendars. These can be purchased through

The Print Shop.

-If you are inquiring because you are interested in my portrait packages, the answer is YES! After your session, your photos will be delivered in a password-protected online gallery. There will be an option in the gallery to download your photos. Each session also includes a print release that will be delivered along with your gallery. This form essentially allows you to print your photos yourself. You can present the form if a print shop asks for proof that you are permitted to print your session's photos.

As a side note, I do always recommend that my clients print their images directly through me in order to receive the highest quality prints possible. When you are investing so much into high quality photos, you want to make sure your prints have just as high of quality.

Sometimes, Meijer and Walmart just don't cut it.

Where can I purchase nature and landscape photos?

Nature and landscape photos can be purchased in several different ways. Please visit my shop page to see which options are available to you!

I am interested in ordering a fine art or nature print. Will my print come with a watermark?

With the exception of senior photo wallets and a few portrait prints and canvases, all prints ordered from Pábitel Photography are watermark-free. Nature and landscape photos may be printed through The Print Shop.

Why don't my prints look the same as what I see on my monitor or phone?

No matter where your photos are printed, it is very unlikely that they will match color-for-color what you see on your phone or computer. There are several reasons for this. First, whatever screen you are using to view your photos works as a source of light, making photos look brighter. Depending on the paper's finish, prints will absorb or reflect light. This can cause prints to have less contrast and softer colors than on your screen.

Secondly, almost every computer or phone screen is calibrated differently. This affects what colors your monitor displays. Monitors are also capable of displaying more colors than a printer is typically able to print. If a printer cannot replicate an exact color, it will replace that color with as close of a match as possible.

For the best printing results, I recommend staying away from stores like Walgreens or Walmart. Instead, print directly through your gallery on satin, luster or matte paper. To be extra sure that you are printing your photo in as high quality as possible, contact me, and I will place your order myself.
